I made the pilgrimage to the Randall shop last week. I mentioned how dry the leather washers I beeswaxed on the 25 handle were after being submerged in the river for a day of fishing. I learned on the 25 handle the leather washers are epoxied to reduce the risk of contraction when exposed to the elements because the butt cap is lacking the acorn nut for future adjustment. Again, I was impressed with the magnitude of thought that goes in every design element to construct a durable knife without exception. I was also impressed with how the Randall shop grinds down and taps to construct the threaded portion of the tange so it is an integral unit vs simply brazing the threaded portion on. No shortcuts were taken in their shop, it was inpressive.
