Max, Pins and sheaths occasionally come up on eBay. There are none listed currently. As for the compass, this is the one you're looking for, but it has been long discontinued. DIAMETER 13.90 MM; THICKNESS 6.87 MM; OIL FILLEDHere are some close alternatives: Link 1 Link 2

Good luck, max. Personally, I love the Buckmaster - one of the better looking survival knives of the 80s. Post a pic if you get a chance.

max, Regarding the compass, don't forget, if you want to go 100% accurate, you can always go with a Silva Type 12 compass and the outside nylon sheath pouch, which Buck went to after continuous problems with the button compass in the buttcap. It will probably be next to impossible to find the original button compass, but the Silva compass and the nylon pouch occasionally pops up on eBay. Does your Buckmaster have a compass in the buttcap that needs replacing or did you just want to add one? If it doesn't have a compass, then your knife came with the Silva compass originally.

Tom, there was not a compass in the pommel cap. I measured the recess and the small recess at the bottom was 15mm which was the correct size for a pommel compass. If the patent pending didn't have the buttcap compass then I'll start looking for the Silva. I like them better, you can see them and lay them on the map.
thanks for the info. I have seen the Silva's on web sites, so this is good.
