While I was visiting the Wilfred Works on Thursday, a character named Boogie showed up and layed a knife down that was in need of attention. Tony said this knife has cleaned more critters in a day than most knives see in a lifetime, and has done that for at least 20 years. I have to estimate, because I didn't measure it, this is about 5 1/2" closed. The blade and spring next to it is a bit bigger but the blade profile is the same as this knife was originally. It has seen alot of use and Tony says he had to replace the original nickel silver pivot pin with a stainless one a number of years ago. I has nickel silver bolsters which is a tell tale sign that this is a classic Bose knife, as Tony uses stainless steel mostly these days.

Wow, now there's a guy that's getting his money's worth! I bet it makes Tony proud to have made a knife of such quality and durability over 20 years ago and see it thoroughly used and enjoyed all this time.

That's a good looking knife John and it looks like it held up well.

Boogie dropped off the knife for Tony to put a new blade in it. Obviously it was easier for him to make a new knife than fix the old one. Here is Boogie's replacement. He'll have a choice to keep the old one as is or swap Tony the old one for the new one. That's a no brainer in my book.

It really is a Huge Knife. Here is a comparison of that pattern next to a regular BackPocket Knife.

Anyone think its too big?

It's great to see what a new one looks like in comparison - gorgeous. I love the blade profile - very useful. I must say, Tony is one hell of a guy; but most everyone here is already quite aware of that.

John, I love that green canvas micarta shadow version. Big yes, but I don't think it's too big -- while I wouldn't want to carry it in my pants pockets (unless I had a thigh pouch it would fit in), it would fit great in most vests, jackets, coats, overalls, bags, and whatever else (I *hate* carrying folding knives in sheaths BTW). The shadow version should be light enough that you'd hardly know you had it. Looks like the perfect "do everything" knife to take hiking, hunting, fishing, or most any other outdoor endeavor -- it might not be totally ideal for all situations and uses, but it should always do a good job. (I feel far safer carrying a folding knife rather than a fixed blade in situations where falls and tumbles are common and help is far away.)

Exactly how long is the blade and how long is it closed?

Blade is 4” long, 5 5/8” closed, , overall length 9 7/8” with a very strong spring.
