Never mind, I just found the eBay auction and the answers to my questions.

I don't know that it is a replacement, and if I were to bet, I bet it is original. I went and checked some sheaths, Moore, Southern Saddlery, and both CJM and SS sheaths used that same snap which is a "baby dot" type. Moore used the glove type also, whereas SS seemed to use the baby dot type almost exclusively. The CJM version is noticeably larger than the SS version as evidenced by the keeper snap in the photo.

I compared them to Johnson baby dot and the SS snaps appear a bit "flatter" on the dome portion. I don't know if that means anything and could be a result of installation or maybe this whole discussion starting to wear on me! crazy

Bottom line, the snap is the same type but perhaps from different manufacturer than used by Johnson.

If I wear you out, does that mean I win? grin

More than anything, I thought it was unusual the way that snap was set.

"To me it seems strange that we would see a few sheaths
with the BB, Baby Dot combination.
But I don't doubt Joe's opinion. He seen more RMK sheaths than most of us combined. In summary, I have to go with Joe's thoughts."

Rod,
Remember also that sheaths were finished (snapped to the specific knife) @ the Randall shop. More than a few knives have left the shop for parts unknown with mix-matched snaps.
Just sayin', Capt. Chris

That's a neat knife, Rod. I would love to hear the stories it could tell. It looks like it has been to the woods and has seen the bear.
