It's the same knife Mike. Gary "did" make a run of these. WE all know the "Griffin" handle as it was nicknamed. It is now called the "Single Finger Grip". I think we're looking at the same knives, just 2 different "versions" of the story. Nice knives, no doubt. I believe there were more than one forging...or, perhaps more correctly: More seperate dates & times that the forging was completed. There are certainly more than a two dozen of these knives out there. I have seen 3 handle shape variants. SFG, 4 finger grip and "no" finger grip. Someone else might post up is they know of more???
Hindsight is always 50-50 but I would guess GTR made some and more were made by other shop craftsman. Hell: Mitchell has 4 at one Blade Show! (Or more...That's just how many I saw!)
