What's the hype about this knife?-http://www.mountsplus.com/AR-15_Accessories/AR-15_Scope_Rings/110-CRKT-M16-10KZ.html, preppers and survivalist are talking this a lot on their videos. What makes this knife ahead of the pack?

Like a number of factory knife makers, this description displays a mouthful of technical terms, impressive features, and promising possibilities.

Its called merchandising or marketing. Conjure up images in the mind. Associate it with the real McCoy, like an M-16.

I sell CRK&T knives in my store, and I have always been impressed with Kit Carson's M-16 & M-21 models. For the longest time, I sold dozens and dozens of these models because they were made in Taiwan.

With regrets, like many American "nameplates", these are now made in China. Perhaps the Chinese have equalled the Taiwan workmanship. I'm not a happy camper, though.

I was even more discouraged to see that many of the folder models by Gerber are made in China.

Even H & K has some of their catalog offerings marked, "Import".

It's not bad considering you can get it for under $30.

Pros:
-All black
-Pretty Light
-Small, disappears in pocket
-Clip is small and doesn't advertise
-Sharp out the box
-Spear/Drop point blade
-Nice grip feel for such a small handle

Cons:
-Safety feature is slightly annoying to close
-Made in China
-CRKT does not stamp the type of steel on this model. I got AUS4 steel on my blade (but CRKT has used other steels for this knife)
-Screws come loose without some Blue Loctite

I have grown to love the design of this knife because of the pros mentioned above. At first I didn't really like it though. I was having a hard time with the LAWKS safety feature, until I read the instructions (duh). Now, it's not much more difficult than a regular liner lock without the LAWKS. YMMV

Matt,

I enjoyed your Blog, and will use it to assist in adding more knives to sell at Fayetteville's tactical knife/gun store, Jim's Gun Jobbery. We are located near Fort Bragg NC, home to the "SOC's" (USASOC, JSOC, etc) & the 82nd Airborne Division.

We carry Benchmade, CRK&T, Emerson, Gerber, Kershaw, & ZT just to name a few.

Heard a rumor that Chris Reeve might be discontinuing the Sabenza models this year.

Like your website.

Thanks for the feedback Buck.

I believe the Sebenza 25 will replace the 21.
