Wanted to just comment quickly, even though it's
Thanksgiving holiday here and my regular work
day is a holiday, I'm working on some sheath work
to catchup on, and used this knife in some trimming
effort, my usual knife to do detail work like that
was the Kershaw Double Cross wharncliff blade, same
length as this one, a bit narrower blade. Now this
one was so nice to handle as I had to hug tightly
to the edge of a balisong sheath to trim down the bottom
layer to form the belt loop, very slick cutting!
And then 'worrying' a little piece of leather out of a
nook was just as easily done as well, I'll have to make
a sheath to protect this one now! but I will take care
of that, after these others are finished up.

Thanks again Mr Bose,
G2

Sweet! Now there's a real working knife! A2 is one of my favorite working steels - strong, sharpens easily to a scary sharp edge and holds it very well.

Thanks Dwight, she be all of sharp for sure! lovely knife!

And John, is that also an A2 blade? I know A2 can rust quickly...

I have some thick layers of foam and carved out a section to
make sort of like "sword in the stone" type of thing so
when I'm not trimming/cutting I can slip it into that block
of foam for safe keeping, eventually I'll make a sheath
as I intend to also use her for some wood carving too.

Nope it's D2, this knife was made and only used to open bags of salt (water softener). It amazing how corrosive just the salt dust can be if not wiped off. I kinda like it (after I cleaned it up).

Congrats on your new knife. I saw the blade while it was still "naked" without ebony scales and Tony told me where it was going. He said a guy that makes sheaths as good as you should have a good knife to make them with. There ya have it!

Kerry, I was blown away when I unwrapped the knife, very nice!

I spoke with Mr Bose the morning I received it, it really
was too much, I explained how men often don't know how to
accept gifts, always puts us at an awkward position, so I
tried to coax him into getting a sheath for his backpocket
folder but of course that defeats the intended name, but I
still left it that if he wanted to try one, I'd be more than
happy to help him out.

As to how the knife is working, every time I reach for it
to trim some leather, it just seems like I'm pulling
Excaliber from the stone, I made a piece of foam it rests
in
And it has such a great feel to it, very comfortable grip
and sharp, very sharp knife. I tend to control the blade
with my left thumb for pressure when I make the cuts, for
the bulk of the leather work I do use the razor knives but
for delicate jobs, this one will be on my kitchen table
for now on.

Gary, what are the measurements for your new knife? Blade length? Handle length?

Hi Dwight, the blade measures right at 2" and the handle reaches out to 4 1/4"

Here are a few more shots taken tonight

I added a leather fob with a black wood bead placed on it

and this is a nice thick piece of foam that holds the knife
when not in use, quite handy!

Did I mention this was sharp!???
