@Hans: There are a couple of very interesting books telling the story of RMK and the relation to Solingen. I'm quite sure Solingen cutlers were fully engaged here in Germany during WW2 but afterwards built a business relationship with Bo Randall when the demand for fighting blades had grown during the various conflicts in South East Asia. Extremely interesting and full of surprises

My Dad´s pocket knife and his watch which he got from my Mam when they married in 1951. On special days like Easter or Chrismas or when I married my wife they are my EDC´s!!

Both are users and they do their work today just as well then 60 years ago.

Watch and knife are nothing fancy, but for me they are unpayable treasuries!
