Yes, the blood grove was quite the "fad" for a long time. Don't know where it started or who gets the credit, but it just isn't a practical design. Doesn't do anything to allow the "blood" to flow from the knife. If anything, it allow the blood to "pool" on the blade, thus making it harder to clean and possibly add more of a rust opportunity if left for very long.

You can always get back into the Randall fold, first by joining the Randall collector's club further up on this forum. Then go buy a nice Randall and start the itch.
