I was looking for a small pocket knife to carry. I saw this one by John Lloyd for sale on another forum and decided it was what I was looking for. It's that and more. This is a great knife with excellent fit and finish, 2 1/8" balde of ATS 34, 5 1/2 overall length, stag handle and it came razor sharp. It's like a scalpel, it's that sharp. It does everything I would ask a knife this size to do, open envelopes, boxes, slice fruit and it's people friendly. In fact some people even said how nice it looks. I work with a bunch of non-knife friendly people. I was so impressed by this knife I ordered another one just a little larger with a 3" blade which I should have in November. John was very to work with when I ordered it. Great knife from a great guy. What more could I ask for?

Thanks Tony. I bought the one in the picture from VCM. Vince was great to work with and the prices are very reasonable. He has a couple on his website now,. John doesn't have a website as far as I know but I do have his e-mail address if you want it.

Steve

I have one of John's knives. It is a great knife for the price. His work is becoming better and better all the time. He had 20 or so knives at Atlanta, they were very nice.

Vince is the go to guy for a Lloyd. He can usually get them in a very short time.

Very classy looker and I do like ATS 34. I have a Benchmade with ATS-34 and it really holds an edge.

Bought this swayback jack a few days ago. I am a big fan of Dowell knives.

Very nice looking knife, Plaza has some great looking custom knives. Are you going to carry it? I have too many nice knives that I don't carry myself.

Great question, Peter. It perks up my days to have one of "those nice knives that you really ought to carry" in my pocket every day. There truly has not been a day without one (or two) in my pocket every single day since my 5th birthday. Damn shame my kids can't say the same as you'd get permanently expelled at school now, as my 17 year old son said yesterday, for being "caught" with Advil or nail clippers. My 20&1/2 year old college junior daughter's purse has the little side pocket with her #10, though, and she's been shooting her soon-to-be legal EDC Colt for 6 years already. Oooops, off-track, sorry.
Really nice knife!

I probably won't carry the Dowell. I won't have it in my hands until the New Year, as we are going to be moving back to North America just before Christmas.
I do carry the wharncliffe Dowell (see attached) with me, except when I am on an airplane.
The other picture is of the Dowells I own, although there is one missing from the "family" photo.

Very nice knives, Rod - congrats! You are pretty fast collecting them smile
As we are talking of swaybacks, here is my EDC from Todd Davison:

Thank you for your comments.
Peter I have a Davison as well, but not a wharncliffe. Todd makes an excellent folder. They sell like hot cakes when you see them on the Internet.

He is my Davison, not a great picture, although.

Then a Menefee wharncliffe I got early this year from Rick.

Thanks Steve. It was the first one like that, that Rick Menefee made, hence the prototype. I am very happy with the knife.

I am addicted to wharncliffe blades. Between wharnies and RMK, I am broke most of the time.
