There's quite a bit of discussion about M&P pistols on mp-pistol.com/boards/ forum. Lots of information on M4Carbine.net too.

They are good guns, but a few tweaks make them even better.

I am hearing about trigger problems with the M&P, anyone else having the same problem? The Glock Gen 4 #34 is looking better.

Yeah, but there are solutions for the M&P trigger issues. Kits from APEX Tactical. Then you will have a better gun than a Glock. I'm saying that and my carry gun is a Gen 3 Glock 19.

There are NO trigger problems with the M&P. Let me repeat that, NO problems. Upon initial production and for some time thereafter, the triggers were gritty feeling with a average reset. Definitely there was room for improvement, but it was still a serviceable trigger, just not a "match" trigger.

S&W has taken steps to correct this with some success, and as stated, APEX has come out with a carry as well as a competition kit that are great improvements over a stock action depending on our needs.

To avoid problems, stay away from the Gen 4 Glocks. I do not think they have the issues ironed out with these yet. Glock probably should have left well enough alone. If you must have a Glock, stick with a Gen 3.

S&W is going to release a couple of new models of M&P on the 14th of this month that from what I have read are single stack models for easier carry and/or back up.

Pap,How the heck are ya...
I have been selling guns for the last 15 yrs..M&P--Glock are both
great hand guns and I sell a lot of each..Still own a Glock 36-I really like the Gen4 you get in it instead of on it,,same with M&P.
Nothing handles or points like a 1911!All the gun makers are running behind on orders.

The Model 34 is supposed to be the same size as a 1911 and point about the same. I guess we'll see once it comes in.

Well my Model 34 arrived and I picked it up today. VERY nice, I must say. I will take some pics soon. I need some advice on after market sights. The gun shop I bought from recommended Truglo but they were out until next week. Anyone have other suggestions?

Are you looking for adjustable or fixed sights?
