I thought I would start a new thread strictly for Behring Made Knives. James learned from one of the best under the Treeman stamp for years.....now he is making some amazing knives in his Montana forge.

Here is one I just received. I asked James if he had ever made a sub-hilt fighter. Well, he has now.... and this is the first one. 7-1/2" hammer marked blade......with a stag and spacer stack.......double nickel silver hilts.

I had Mudbone Jones make a sheath. He carried the skull stamp on the blade to the sheath..... and the red really ties with the spacers. It's a pretty scary rig.

Here's another beauty!

10" blade, nickel silver hilt, and a big chunk of fossil ivory worked into a crow's beak handle.

Again, the sheath is by Roger "Mudbone" Jones. It has a MACV-SOG take off.

I do love fighting knives...... and this is a classic.

7-1/2" humpback blade, the top edge is sharpened.

Nickel silver hilt with a yellow micarta handle. I really like the way the black spacers pair up with the Mosher sheath.

Well, this is no fighter, but I'd take it in a tight spot!!

This thing is massive....9" blade, 5/16" thick at the spine. In the first picture is a Randall #1-8" fighter.

I know...not real practical, but I can't wait to make a batch of ribs....and break them down with this'n. James called it "The Butcher"

Huge chunk of fossil ivory with great drop and taper. Check out the hilt.... like everything on this blade... huge.

Purely a man toy!

Great knives!

As much as I like Behring's colorful spacers, that black/white/aluminum combo is very classy, especially with the fossil ivory.

The Butcher is awesome. Is it hollow ground? Just wondering.

I can't believe you would actually use that beautiful cleaver!! If I were you, I'd use your old Marbles #9 hatchet on those ribs.

Thanks for the comments guys......

Rick, it appears to be a convex grind.....definitely not hollow.

Pappy.... I actually have an old school Foster Brothers cleaver for such dirty work. You are right.....I'd have a hard time marking up the finish on this one.

Tune--you have a great collection of knives.

Really like that knife block in your kitchen--do you have any history/details about it you can share?
