The model that got fifth spot in the photo was a civilian version of the Fighter and was named the 'Camper.' It had the Fighter's blade without the top edge being sharpened and was thus offered in the same selection of 6-, 7-, or 8-inch blade lengths. The hilt and handle shapes were exactly the same as on his new Hunter model. While only moderately popular the first couple of years, this style was eventually accepted by boaters, as well as hikers and backpackers. Current Model 5's come in 5'',6'',7''and 8'' blades of 1/4'' stock. There is a model 5 with a 4'' blade of 3/16'' stock known as the Small Camp and Trail Knife.
