I got this one from a collector in the upper Midwest about a year and half ago. Except for the handle material it is pretty much identical to the one on page 113 of Sheldon's book. It is very obvious that this was never a user except maybe to open letters or something like that. I cleaned up the duralumin butt cap and hilt a little and I mean very little but that was it. I haven't touched the blade at all. It seems Nickel Silver never really develops much patina so I don't think knives with NS hardware show their age like brass does. I don't know exactly when it changed but there seems to be a distinct difference in the satin finish on the older knives when compared to newer ones. At first I wasn't sure what kind of wood the handle was but took it to the shop on my last visit and confirmed that it is Rosewood.
