I got my new Ruger Alaskan in .44 Magnum on Tuesday and some ammo on Friday.

I put 6 through it on Saturday. It is certainly different from a .357 and/or .45 acp, although the recoil is manageable.

LOUD doesn’t even begin to describe the report as I had all my “neighbors” texting and wanting to know what in the hell was I shooting?

Keep in mind, my “neighbors” are all 3/4 mile to 1 1/2 miles away.

I was shooting 240 grain factory Winchester. I feel like it would definitely take down a big hog that I might surprise at close range.
