To who? Guys that have been around the hobby for some time maybe. What about the newer guy? How many posts do you see from a guy asking if a knife is legit? All the time.

This isn't a new issue, and has been a problem for years. I have seen more than
a few fellows with a knife they thought came from Randall as they bought it only to learn it was altered. This is in no way a critique of the work, but it is an alteration of original production nonetheless.

James was putting a medallion or something on his, as the shop and he had an "understanding" that the knives would be identified in some fashion. I don't think Jim ever did anything.
