Ballisticly the 10mm with the 180gr is slightly better than the 45, but the big difference is the magazine capacity at 15+1 in the chamber. As far as the trigger goes, I have replaced the stock triggers and they are set at 3.5 pounds. I know the 1911's are a fine weapon, but I've never been a fan of cocked and locked, that's just me.
