First pic top, second bottom. Believe it or not I use a Harbour Freight 1 x 30 belt sander. I rough it in as close as possible, then it's hand sanding and eyeballing. I have a keen eye and know what I am looking for. No compromise! I love the boarder patrol shape. It fits the hand perfectly and maximizes the beautiful wood. For me the guard is where the time is spent. Not so much the actual shaping, but due to the hardness of the metal and no room for error. This is only my second try, so I am far from giving advice.

The pictures tell the knife. It is a basic Buck 119. Good practice knife. What would you like me to describe? Full CDT, soldered nickel silver double guard, aluminum/red spacers, aluminum butt cap with nut, spalted maple burl.
