We use Trader Joe's because the local grocery stores don't stock it any more, and the price is one half of the specialty shops.
We make 8 oz each time and that lasts about 3 meals for the 2 of us.
We also use chicken broth instead of water, and we cook it for about an hour and a half.
It goes from hard grains to puffed moist grains almost instantly after that time.
I don't think you can overcook it if you keep water in the pot.
