I agree with you.

I just read an article in the latest Guns & Ammo issue of a person going hunting Cape Buffalo in South Africa with a Marlin lever action in 45/70.

He was using specialty Garrett hard cast 525 gr bullets at about 1350 fps.

Makes me want to get my Shiloh Sharps ready for when the outdoor range opens if/when the snow ever clears.
