So as not to continue a hi-jack off of another sub-forum I thought we could open the discussion here, where it belongs...(& I was as much to blame as anyone...maybe more so)!
I have owned several Winchesters in 348 Winchester and 358 Winchester, to include lever guns and custom bolt-actions. Someone asked for a comparison between the old (antiquated) 35 Winchester and the (still around, barely) 348 Winchester.
For the sake of equal comparison:
35 Winchester: 250 Grain jacketed soft point:
* 2,195 FPS (Muzzle velocity)
* 2,670 Foot pounds (Energy)

348 Winchester: 250 Grain jacketed soft point
* 2,350 FPS (Muzzle velocity)
* 3,060 Foot pounds (Energy)

358 Winchester: 250 Grain jacketed soft point
* 2,250 FPS (Muzzle velocity)
* 2,810 Foot pounds (Energy)
** NOTE: All of the above specs is with factory Winchester loads...not reloads...

Hope this helps, Capt. Chris
