If you go back to 1980, a teacher in Texas made $8400 a year. I made an extra $500 a year for working 100+ hours a week coaching Football, Basketball, & Track. After taxes & insurance, I brought home $489. I paid $275 month rent for a shack way out in the woods.

I got a Hell of a windfall in 1988 when I got my first Athletic Director / Head Football job. AND, I married the PRETTIEST 2nd grade teacher in Texas that just gave me that #1-8 on my other post for Father's Day.

To put it in the words of my Uncle that fought in WW2, Korea, & Viet Nam, (and tried to re-enlist for Desert Storm), we were ALL wipin' poor asses in the 1980s.

PS. Eric, that is a damn nice knife!!!
