New York State reintroduced Bald Eagles from Alaska in the late 70's/80's and they are thriving. More than doubled the number of Eagles in the state over the last 20 years and are projected to increase by 10% per year.

While hunting in the Adirondacks about 6-7 years ago while up in my tree stand an immature Bald Eagle landed on a branch less than 8 feet from me. I didn't move a muscle and enjoyed the company for more than a minute.

Now you can find Bald Eagles in every corner of the state.
