I sent some to Greg Gutcher a few years ago right after the fire, and he told me he has never seen such quality skins from beaver tails. It's a great North American hide that is very unusual. Most people think it is some sort of snake skin. Even wildlife experts don't guess what it is. Not only are they unusual but very tough skin and very hard to scratch or make a mark.
