I agree, that is truly a crude appearing knife as you state. And you are correct in stating that mine is much more refined, which I would judge as being made later than your early example. I knew there had to be a serious collector somewhere with another example, whether it be in their current collection or a previously owned piece. I should have known that it would be you!
