Captain Chris Stanaback Knife Enthusiast Registered: 09/14/05 Posts: 12681 Loc: Central Florida	Rick, Do "not" fill the reservoir! Coat the stones lightly, once cleaned. After honing, I wipe the stones with a paper towel..and I have used mine for "decades" without replacement. The reservoir is designed to "catch" the oils and metal that is being removed with each pass while the actual honing is going on...that's it. Best, Capt.
