I hesitated a little before posting this since, strictly speaking, this isn't a Bose made knife, but it is the next best thing.

The knife, made by Kerry Hampton under Tony's tutelage is based upon Tony's "Lanny's Clip" pattern and Tony was kind enough to do the heat treat.

So, if you don't mind taking a look, I'll just provide you a link to the images and comments on this little beauty that Kerry was kind enough to build on my behalf:

Lanny's Clip by Kerry Hampton

Thanks, Kerry!

Well HOdeedo...what have we here?! I think you'll like it Elliott.

Tony is great to allow me to work in his warm and well equipped shop, and ofcourse the breakfast by MamaBose Saturday was nothing to sneeze at. On a full stomach, that Lanny's Clip went together better than any knife I have made to date. It's going to be a dandy user for you I am sure of that.

Well, I guess I should count myself lucky that it wasn't one of those Monday or Friday knives.

Many thanks to the Bose clan for making sure that your belly was full and you were able to tackle the project head on.

Thanks, Kerry. This will be a special knife for sure.

Welllll thank you Brent. I really like the way this knife turned out. I am inclined to do more in 52100 because the steel etches so uniformly and dark. The problem is I have only found 52100 in 1/8" thickness, which is fine for the bigger knives like the Lanny's Clip but for the Wharncliffe Trapper I have to have the 1/8" stuff ground down to 3/32".

If you know where I can get it in smaller flat ground thicknesses, please let me know.

I sold that one to Blues, but I am very very slow at making them. Too many irons in the fire.

Since this thread has resurfaced from the depths I thought I would add Kerry's second Lanny's clip in. This one has the "Sheffield" rat tail bolsters across the pins and is the first one that Tony and Kerry have made with the old style rat tails.

That is a great looking knife Mike.

Kerry, i'll take the one with the bolsters like this one. Stainless or D2 is fine with me.
