Peter,
I will venture a guess of early to mid 80s ... but there are many here with more expertise who will
weigh in!

Peter, if that is the original stone, then your knife could very well be from 1970 to '75.

You know Dubie, I totally forgot about the stone. I was just looking at the spacers and the sheath!
Anyway, I was right that someone with more expertise would weigh in!

I have an almost identical #22....only difference being that my sheath carries an unmarked salmon colored stone (1975ish to 1988ish).

I'm curious about the blade stamp....as with your knife, my stamp is parallel to the top of the blade. Many #22s I see have an angled stamp (following the blade grind).

Does anyone know when Randall started using the angled stamp?

Is it correct that the use of the angled stamp started in the early 80ies?
I was told that the stone was original to the knife...

Thanks

I have a dark photo of this #22, but just clicked a new one. Hope ya'll enjoy. Kevin: How long do I have to keep this "Model of the Week" thing going on?
Best, Capt. Chris

Captain,

WOW you're killing me today with all these amber stag handles. As I said on the other threads, you get all the good amber stag knives.
