Guido,

Spectacular! That is a real treasure.

I assume you meant Roberto Bruci was a scrimshander not an engraver?

Guido,
That is a beautiful #1 with exquisite art work!
And I bet that trapper had to also be a fighter at one time or another! smile

Great looking knife and the scrimshaw is amazing in the detail. I hope you keep it displayed and not hidden in a drawer.

That "All Purpose" #1 would make a great trapper and mountain man knife! Especially with the single hilt and thumb notches. Is that a six inch blade? It looks perfect.

As far as the "Purists" go (I'm not even sure what that would be) the #1 with a single hilt and thumb notches is nothing more than an "improved" #5, Camp and Trail. The thumb nothces are cut into the top cutout, leaving less chance of slippage. The "Crow's beak" prevents the hand from slipping off the back of the knife, making it ideal for trapping muskrat, beaver or mink. I think this Italian guy is way ahead of the curve on this one.
Bravo Guido, Capt. Chris

Thanks so much Guys!
Tah...that's the most Classic Elephant Ivory and work took some more than 100hours.
This knife went to Italy...than back to USA....than back here....!
Before to own it, it was seated in one of the most important knife collection of Italy...among hundreds Loveless blades....and more...
More to come....stay tuned ! wink
