A friend in Arizona just replied that lane splitting is legal there...perhaps as of today.

I thought 'Wha-a-t?"

Then I remembered that a lot of Californians are moving there....

Steve,
I can pretty much say that this will be an accident waiting to happen.

I can see a motorist stopped in bumper to bumper traffic and opening his door to check to see what the problem may be.

Next thing you know, there is an accident.

Capt...we'll have to figure another way to pay!!
It wasn't going to be long before they banned knife transactions anyway...

Rocky,
Those assault knives are dangerous. Have been known to jump off the counter and stab someone.

David's image (text) in the joke thread reminded me of something I thought you would enjoy.

The biggest driver of this plan is our daughter-in-law. She was raised migrant with her mom bouncing around all of the time. Any time she (our daughter-in-law) is settled someplace for more than a couple of years, she gets a serious case of "grass is greener" and starts longing to be someplace else.

side note: she hasn't done this with her hubby, they still completely adore each other and hit their 10yr anniversary earlier this year. Her "restless location syndrome" seems to be isolated to where she's living.

They finally sold their house in Texas a week ago and closed on their Colorado house last Friday. The new place is in Evergreen, which is west of Denver with 2000ft higher elevation and a lot more snow days.

They've been pestering us to move to Colorado as well ever since they decided to make the move. We just timidly reply, "we're good, thanks."

What's really happening is this: aside from the goofy liberal politics pushed onto everyone by Denver and Boulder, we're waiting for their first winter to kick in. Then we'll see what they think. She's never lived any place that had a real winter and they've committed to living through at least one.

Reminds me of my brother who moved back to Boston a couple years ago. He lasted one winter!

My grandmother ran an Inn and Tea House in New Hampshire in the summers and a gift shop in one of the luxury hotels in Miami in the winters.
That was back in the late 40's to the early 60's, when the tourist trade was seasonal.
She worked all the time and passed away in her early 60's.
Her advice to me growing up was to avoid the hospitality industry.
I think she enjoyed the life, and did avoid the heavy snow storms.
