Glad you like it Mike!
Stay Sharp, Capt. Chris
Here's another "look": I posted a pic to one of my FB pages because of how "thin-n-sharp" the teeth were...CCS

Does the 'size' of the teeth depend upon who worked on the knife OR can 'large' or 'small' be specified in the order? confused

It has nothing to do with "who" it's "when". No: Teeth size cannot be specified. The smaller teeth occur when the stone wheel that is used to cut the teeth into the blade is "new and fresh", therefore the edge is sharper and less "angled". The more the wear...the larger the teeth.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

I am a admirer of small ST. I understand not being able to specify small or large ST, but IMO small are “pleasing” to eye. Now if I was going to use ST in a crap your pants, house on fire emergency, I have no idea which would be better.

Hi, I find it interesting that the small vs big teeth are a result of tooling. What I know about making knives wouldn't fill a gnat's ear. That being said I bet that in use there would be no noticeable difference between small or big ST. YMMV, regards, Mike

It, most assuredly, depends upon "what" you're cutting. I have not had to evact my ass from a Cobra but I have used my sawteeth on my RMK's...(Well" Only "3" of them) for "numerous" tasks. Mostly I cut-n-trim limbs in the woods for clear, un-obstructed shots from my tree stands and ground blinds.
I have "also" had to cut culvert pipes around the lease to rid jagged, raw, sharp edges, etc. and I like "larger" teeth for that chore as they don't "load-up" as readily. With wood, it's not as dangerous and arduous of a task to clear the teeth...versus metal.
Just "my" opinion and work "I" have done with:
* Model #18-5 1/2"
* Model #5-6", with teeth
* Model CC/FT with teeth
...Your mileage may vary...& Coach: I've yet to see a CC/FT with small teeth. Got a pic?
Best, Capt. Chris

Coach

It is 5’s I collect. I was all over the map when I started collecting 20+ years ago. Now I only collect 5’s, although I have a few others.
Here are some other ST 5’s. The 5-8” was owned by Pap, at one time, I think. Not great photos, just showing both ends of the ST size spectrum.

In the "old" (Brad) days, squared-top single hilts were the norm. Your tight-inclusive "S" blade stamps indicates and much much newer knife than those old fossils, hence the standard of today's knives (more rounded top) would be the default.
Hope this helps others as well.
Stay Sharp,
Capt. Chris

Yes, Ron that's my old Model 5-8" with the SS blade, Scalloped Brass and Border handle with silver plate. I missed it so much after selling that one to The Captain. So glad to know that you got that one. Never seen another one like it and probably never will.

Actually teeth size is/was two fold.

Back in the day according to Pete Hamilton, you could order small teeth.

Note: Generally, small blades have small teeth.

During the Viet Nam war, when saw teeth were relatively high on the option list or knives standard with teeth were themselves high on the order list, i.e. the model 18, teeth seemed to get a bit larger or fewer per inch. Teeth take time, so the fewer teeth per inch, the less time.

Knives with teeth from the late 60's to early 70's usually have medium to larger teeth.

So, it is/was more than simply the wheel.

Here is a link to a post I did a while back comparing saw teeth on model 1's:
