Hi, the Hi Powers had leather holsters attached to a wooden board. According to Anthony Vanderlinden's book they were issued to Belgian non-coms and above. The Canadians made one in all wood ala' the 1896 Broomhandle Mauser. Give me a few days and I'll post a picture.

I just saw a YouTube on the 2022 shot show FN is making High Powers again, regards, Mike

Hi, here's a picture, not mine of a repro stock made by Odin, in the 1980's. They got some original hardware and made about 1000 units. The main difference was the wood and fit and finish. They were not cheap, regards, Mike

Hi Wayne, I have an original and have used it at the 100 meter range and it's nice. The rear sight is kind of "fine" as in small, regards, Mike

Mike,
I don't think that any of those firearms were really designed for accurate long range shots.

Just like the 1911,it was designed up close engagements, which it did very well.
A friend of mine, who was a Game Warden up in Maine, took a 100 yard shot and connected with a coyote. The gun was a SIG P-226 in 357 SIG.

Here is my pair of S&W model 25's. Probably not the first gun that comes to mind when you think of 45acp.

Nate,
I could be wrong on this but the Model 25s could also chamber 45 LC rounds and the ACPs would use the moon clips???

Either way, that is a very nice pair of Model 25s.

Hi, I just sold two S&W model 25's and one 625, probably a mistake. #1 was an older 25 Target, in 45ACP ,scary accurate with SWC reloads. #2 was a 25 Colt, (long colt), and #3 was a 625 3" stainless with an awesome ElPaso Sadlery "Tom Threepersons" holster. A 25 takes 45 ACP with clips or 45 AR (Auto Rim). 45 Colt is not interchangeable with the 45ACP. Ruger made a single action with 2 cylinders one in 45ACP and one in 45 Colt, regards, Mike
