Chief,
Is that a Commander or Officer's Model???

I could be wrong but the bbl looks a bit short for a Commander.

But,like I said,I could be wrong.

Either way.......................super nice

Wayne school me barrel length on both, officer & commander.
These are 3 inch. One is a sig limited run for Lipsey's, the other is a colt defender.

Thanks Tom, I have several in different exotic woods & even a set done in Tiger eye. Went a bit nuts for minute there.

Chief, I believe commander is 4.25 “ and officer is 3”.
Not trying to pick nit though. I thought the grip was shorter on the officer and the commander has the same as a gov’t model.
Those a fine looking weapons by the way!

Sweet never really new, thanks for the heads up.
I just wanted the shortest Barrell as I carry them in a upside down lower back holster.

Chief,
Yep,870 got it right.

Years ago, knifemaker,Bob Loveless made a "smoothy" out of Commanders. Basically rounded everything off to the point that the piece felt like a worn bar of soap.

Remember, the 1911 series are meant to be carried cocked and locked. More safeties are in place in that mode of carry.

Just the way John Browning designed it.

The design has been tried and true for 110+ years.
