Hi. Triathlete with copper hilt, spacers and amber C-Tek for the handle. Coach Blalock had suggested trying C-Tek so I gave it a shot after seeing that the pattern looked somewhat like snake scales. It does look somewhat like a snake skin but at the very least is an interesting material that changes appearance in a pleasing way as it reflects light. Greg Gutcher made the sheath from a copperhead I killed and tanned. Dave

Hi James, Thanks, If the C-Tek came with a brass or copper matrix instead of aluminum I would have sanded through the exterior colored layer and shaped from the outside to expose individual cells instead of shaping from the backside to basically make slabs but thought the amber looked better with copper than aluminum. With a N/S hilt the aluminum would be perfect. I know you are a fan of copper and I'm glad you liked it. Dave
