Oh my!.......that sticks with ya’. Gotta’ hope one's own teaching as a parent trumps the other teacher’s teaching.
Pays to even ask “what did ya learn today in Sunday School & what do you think about that?” Ya’ ALWAYS gotta be on.

Lord help us.

Another fine example of today's ridiculous, out of control, cancel culture. The youth minister needs to find another line of work.

I coached and taught for 40 years.

I NEVER let one of the “bosses” tell me what I could or could not teach.

Coach,
You are THE MAN.

Shame that now a days people are "sheeple" lambs led to slaughter.

I am going to play the Devils advocate here...no pun intended...

Although I have been a SS teacher to 2nd-3rd graders for 30 years and I am NOT ashamed of the gospel, after thinking more serious lately about this subject, I have come to understand this Pastors most likely reasoning...

Easter traditionally, is the most packed at any church I've been involved with. Therefore, the "unchurched" children get maybe their only opportunity to "experience" children's church. And by all means, you don't want to lay the crucifixion at their feet! Why would they EVER want to come back after hearing the total brutality our Savior suffered...FOR US!! Way over their heads for sure!! Resurrection? ABSOLUTELY!! Christ's betrayal, beating and ultimately his death is NOT the Easter story 4-9 yrs old would comprehend. Maybe an explanation of what the Pastor was envisioning could have been more detailed.

You make a great point and the main message to youngsters is salvation. I got saved at age 11 and it wasn't at Easter. Point being that once saved, the rest is learning the gospel a little at a time, that includes the death and resurrection of JC.

Scott & Pappy,

Both of you have very good points and make a lot of sense.

Unfortunately though, children are brought up to think that Easter is for the Easter Bunny and Christmas is all about gifts.

By the way,Jesus was not born on Dec 25th,it was sometime around May or June.

I found out (the hard way) that many Churches (not all) tend to be "corporate organizations" mostly interested in revenue.
