I've gotten to where I love shooting my bench rest guns....liking punching holes....not always at long distances, just me, shooting, and minding my own business....
nice gun!!

Rocky,
Bench rest shooting or any target shooting is a discipline unto itself.

Always room for improvement and always interesting.

I have an Air Force Condor Air Rifle that, from a rest,at 50 yards will shoot 1/2" groups all day long.

Off hand........not so much.

Off hand has gone out the window for me. Rocky I like your pistol, those Bo-Mar sights must have been special, and still are for those that have them.

I guess...I haven't shot this gun much at all....just a few times after I got it back from the gunsmith....it was a mess when I got it from my dad...wouldn't function...in pieces...I think it was a junker he got off of somebody probably for next to nothing...threw it in a box...and, there it sat...I thought maybe some of those old NM 45's may have come with a Bo-mar...mine doesn't, nor my Smith 41, nor my Smith 52....I guess that's probably the only one I have

Rocky,
Nice 1911 there. Looks like it is set up for hardball match or combat match.

John Browning designed that piece and it is still basically unchanged to this day.

I prefer the plain jane stock model but did, some years ago, answer to the National Match call and sent a 1911 to Jim Clark for his accuracy job, etc.

Superb gun but I still like the issued piece. Designed for hardball which has an excellent track record.

In 'Nam,I was not issued one but everyone in my outfit "acquired" one and the standard mode of carry was cocked and locked, round in the chamber with 7 round magazine.

Just the way JMB designed it.
