Pap,

I am so sorry. That is all I know to say.

Thanks so much for your condolences for my Mother, Jane Allen. So in 2012, Lucille and I went to Tallahassee to see her, and we were met at the door, and had to take her to the Emergency room. She was in ICU for 2 days and we were told that her internal functions were shutting down and to gather our family I called my brother and we waited for the end. The doctors took her off everything. Two hours later she woke up and asked for water. Then said she was hungry. Next day, they sent her to Hospice. Two weeks later, Hospice kicked her out and she went home, for7 more years. She was an amazing lady. All her doctors were shocked at her recovery. My brother and I just chuckled because we knew our mom. As a Christian lady, I am sure she is still looking down at us and smiling.

Pap,

You were a lucky man to have had so many great women in your life. They were lucky too to have had you for a Son, Husband and father.

God bless and give you and your family strength.

Pappy,
Gosh! When it rains it pours!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I pretty much know what you are going through.
My Mother,Wife and Daughter all passed away in rapid succession.

I hope that all works out well for you. Some very serious smoke being sent your way.

Better news today on Lucille, she is beginning to talk better. The doctors at the hospital put her on a new drug designed to help her digest her tube feeding. That's when she started going down hill. I went on Google to see what the side effects were, and she had 3 of the major ones. I quit giving it to her on Thursday and she is doing better today. She seems to be digesting fine without it. PTL.

So sorry re: your mom Pappy. If you're lucky, their age, & ours, doesn't matter. Our relationship is the thing, your mom is your mom and how can we ever be ready to let them go?
No idea as to your plans but Charlottesville is only a couple hours away. My home along with transportation and a driver is yours for the asking if needed, my friend.
GOD's blessings to you and your loved ones.

Your offer is overwhelming, but unfortunately, with Lucille's situation, I couldn't go to Virginia. My cousin will make arrangements for burying Mother's ashes in the Ham plot at Oakwood cemetery. There are 2 spots left. We will have a nice head stone too.
