Having grown up on a real, hard working family dairy & truck farm I learned early to grow everything. Was lucky enough to enjoy working with a dad and grandfathers and learned how. Past 15 years I've had to give up trying to grow anything except on a deck without steps. Too many deer who devastatingly eat everything. Counted 31 bedded down in my yard this morning. So most of my flowers are the wild ones in my woods. These are a Lady Slipper and then tomatoes & herbs on the deck where deer can't get to them..... until they learn to fly.

Looks like some are working on that flying thing. Just need to put in some power wires.

Here are a few quick shots from around the back patio of my potted plants/flowers and my lone rose bush. The potted ones don't survive outdoors year round in Kansas, so they get trimmed back and brought inside before first frost. The pink rose bush obviously stays outside. It was a lot fuller and brighter last week, but I forgot to grab a pic of it. It's a bit dry now. Still waiting on my 10 Bunches of Pampas grass to bloom.

Spied these while visiting Mackinac Island this past weekend. I thought they were Daisies. Found out later they were Dahlias. Not really a perennial. But I really liked them.

You sure about that Eric?
That thing is almost a bush. Looks like a perennial plant to me. The flower looks like similar to something else but can't remember.

I think it is a perennial in its native habitat, but not in Michigan. They will not survive our Michigan winters.
