Can anyone tell me when they started making this model and sheath information?

Combat Companion, not sure exactly when. It's a non catalog model, but available still.

Thanks for the response.
I have been looking back at pictures in the forum to compare. Now, I think it might be a #15 (?), the stock is closer to 1/4". Should CC be on the sheath (it"s not)?

The CC/FT came about as the 3rd generation of, what began, the 5-knife series of the old RKS "club knives". The club knife was available in a stag or black micarta handle option. I'm sorry but I don't recall the exact amount, in numbers, of production of the individual handles but I think about 400 "total knives" were made.
After the contracted knives were completed the RKS moved on to their 2nd "club" knife, which was later known as The Denmark Special. The 1st club knife was then introduced into the Randall "non-catalog" offerings as The Combat Companion and most material available from the shop, as well as, custom handle material was used.
About 8 years ago, the CC/FT was introduced in non-catalog pages. This time a full, exposed tang was it's base idea along with the use of 3/16" blade stock for the first time. Black or green micarta are the only handle offers and "no" custom material is allowed. A Border Patrol handle in the only handle shape available.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris
PS: Scott can probably give you the exact (or close) initial offering date...CCS

Thanks Capt. Chris, I believe this must be an early one based on 1/4" stock and no designation on the sheath.

I got a CCFT and a Model #15 back in early June and posted pics of them side by side on a thread entitled: Showing off my Fathers Day and Birthday Pesents.

It’s on the Randall Picture forum.

coachblalock, that sure makes me think mine is a #15. I wonder how common that configuration is on the #15. How is your sheath marked? Sorry for all the elementary questions, I have a lot to learn.
Thanks for your help.

I think it is a #15.

I keep my knives separate from my sheaths and my sheaths are all in a closet that I cannot get to very easily right now. (My Bride is doing some re-arranging upstairs and I have been told that I am off limits to go there.)

Maybe in a day or two, she will get it under control and I can get to them.

If memory serves me correct, the model# is on the sheath.

My #15 sheath is not marked. My Combat Companion has CC on it.

Model 15 sheaths do not have "15" marked on them , just the RMK stamp, unless it is custom.
