Took some pics yesterday.

The Pink and White dogwoods are on my neighbor's place.

The Log Cabin is on some of the kinfolk's place.

The rest are on my place. Enjoy! and post yours. I'm sure that Dogwoods are blooming all across the South right now.

Great pictures. Makes me want to be back in North Louisiana and East Texas, until June through October. Can't handle that heat and humidity any more, but really enjoyed my younger days in that area.

Walker: There is NO TELLING how much fish has been fried under the porch of that old cabin.

I’ve spent many a day out there listening to my uncles, cousins, and other men kinfolks spin yarns & tales of fishin’, coon huntin’, moonshining, etc.

We used to would start cooking about noon and keep going until late at night. We fried fish in a 10 gallon cast iron wash pot under old Coleman lanterns. Good Times for sure!

Pappy: You are right about the heat and humidity during the Summertime! But it sure makes the watermelon and ice tea taste good.

You don't play dominos do you Coach? My favorite game, better than bridge and Pinochle.

Pap: In those days, I was a kid and thus I was Uncle Paul’s “GO-FER” He was the cook. Nowdays, Im the cook! It would be late before I could play.

Nobody plays dominoes much any more, but in those days, Daddy was the “king” at the Moon table. There was also a 42 and a straight Domino table. (All loosely enforced of course)

Playing dominoes under a Coleman lantern at night with all of those old guys is a special memory for me.
