It looks like brass spacers win the vote so far, and so does a brass buttcap. I think we need a vote for what type buttcap, standard (straight?) Rounded or thinned-radiused... flanged smooth, or flanged scalloped. My 2 cents only....

Flanged smooth. It's probably the heaviest butt cap that will balance this long blade.

The weight is indeed an important consideration, and a flanged buttcap is the best offset for such a heavy blade. My vote would be for a smooth flanged collar, as it's also the best choice to compliment the commando shaped handle. Smooth will also be easiest to maintain.
