Unfortunately, due to the inability of Rick to perform contractual obligations, sadly; he is no longer an Authorized Randall dealer...

We will be using his reserved dates to further our attempts at getting caught up...

If you need to contact Rick the only contact we have for him is:

Rick@ricksknives.com

Without knowing anything about anything (my usual preference).....Bummer. My only interactions with Rick were in purchasing and talking about Randalls, and, were years ago, pleasant and 100% positive.
Best to him.

I remember Rick telling me year before last at the Blade Show, that his employment was phased out.

Regrets, tough break.

Rick has a website at the same address as his e-mail (just remove the rick@).

There is his phone number and mailing address (P.O. Box), if you desperately need to reach him.

Rob,
Rick doesn’t answer the number on his website. I’ve called that number many times, left messages, and he doesn’t return phone calls. After paying a $100 deposit on a Model 27 last January, I’ve only received one reply to my numerous emails. Thirteen plus months later, no knife, no contact, and out 25% of the cost of the knife.

Sometimes life closes one door, only to open up others..

Only had one dealing with Rick, he brought a couple knives to Pigeon Forge one year, and hand delivered them. Also gave me a little schooling on RMK sheaths. All in all a good experience.

I wish Rick well in any of his future endeavors....

I remember Saturday afternoons at Blade. Rick would have you blind pick a number and get to pick anything on his table in order. Two years ago he sold me an awesome walrus tusk. He always had goo ironwood too. I liked him alot.

I do not disagree Rick is a great guy and have purchased a few knives from him. However, I have two Triathlete's currently due which I paid $575 cash and he is not responding. How about practical advise on how Randall customers from an authorized dealer may get their knives or refund? What is Randall's skin in this game? Do the dealers have to pay for their allocations in advance?

I don't think Randall can do very much about this, accept going to court. They at least took his dealership. Let's say a dealer is a gambling addict, takes a lot of orders in a short time and keeps the money. We can't hold Randall responsible for that and expect them to refund us. I hope you guys (there are more people) who paid him and didn't receive the knives get your money back.

I think in the contract that Rick Ward had/has with Randall, there must be a part in it that says, that he doesn't act in a way that is harmful to the Randall brand our something like that. Taking money from people is a pretty harmful thing for a dealer to do in my opinion. Maybe there is more in the contract and the people who were hurt and the Randall shop (together?) can sue him? Take possession of his belongings with the help of the court or something?

I wouldn't be surprised if he is (very) sick or depressed or has some kind of addiction. If he is a dealer for such a long time, were does this behavior come from? I was joking a little about it this afternoon on Facebook. I was lucky and cancelled my order before I paid anything. He was giving me a bad feeling by not answering a mail which he promised.

But what if he is real depressed, is sick or perhaps suicidal?
Isn't there anybody that can go to his house and ask him if he is alright? I think he is probably reading this because they just took his dealership and he is probably looking at the reactions.

Sphinx, you touch on a good point here, we never know what kind of hardship a person may be enduring. Having been in the Randall community for so long, it's hard to imagine this being the outcome Rick would hope for.
Anyway, whatever the problem is, hopefully he will get with everyone involved and and give some sort of answer, like "Ive had a rough time lately, I'll make it right sooner or later", etc. Randall people are almost always good people, hopefully he'll get everything sorted out and work toward making everything right with everyone involved.

I hope he does. Giving people an honest answer is the best he can do and work something out with them. I would be pissed tough, if it was money and he never answers calls or e-mails...

As mentioned already, Randall's relationship is with Rick and not you (for this case).

Since you are already in Georgia, you can open up a case in small claims court (I think GA calls them "Magistrate Court") to get your money back. These courts are there specifically for relatively small amounts and easy for anyone to represent themselves without paying big bucks to an attorney.

Other customers outside the state could do the same, but the real pricetag to show up would probably exceed the amount they are seeking in damages.

(edit to add) Then again, if he's having "down on his luck" problems, you'll have to make a judgement call on how ugly you want to get to recover your money in the timeframe you want.

Don't feel too bad for Mr. Ward. I understand that there is thousands of dollars involved in this and that it may be felony fraud.

What Capt. Gary said.....the guy owes people money and is not responding. That doesn’t sound like such a good guy to me.

Sick, disabled, whatever - no excuse - he knowingly billed for items that he did not have, would never have, and had no way of obtaining to fulfill the order. I don't know when he took your money, but I know for a FACT that he was accepting funds for Randall products as late as 12/30/18. He took mine, but he could not even order from Randall at the time. FRAUD! I can prove it. I personally submitted a felony fraud complaint with the Sheriff's office today.

Sorry guys, especially if you're on the short end of the stick. I guess I'm an optomist, and give people the benefit of the doubt, at least 'til there is no more doubt.

Rick Ward Knives

Howdy Ya'll,
I am in dire need of finding the wherabouts or doings of Rick Ward. A friend of mine in Florida paid out several thousands of dollars for 12 RMK's (2 of them are mine) . The knives were paid for and to Rick Ward Knives. I'm Starting to take this personal now. Perhaps The State Attorney Generals Office may be interested as well as the FDLE here in Florida. We would rather have the product or our owed monies. This doesn't look real good for Rick Ward. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

@ Capt.Gary If this is you and you want to "locate him", there is another Randall dealer named Rick Bowles who can maybe help you do that . He is banned here, so I can not give you a link to his site. He was/is real close with Rick ward. He posted the other day on FB, that he knows him for over 30 years and even helped him become a dealer. He also mentioned a lot of details about the current situation of Rick ward.

I presume that since he knows so much about his current situation, he perhaps is still having contact with him. You can find Rick Bowles on the internet or look at his post about Rick Ward on the Randall Knives Facebook page. That is were he mentioned the details about his friend.

Forgot to mention you the best of luck! I also almost ordered two knives from him, but got a bad feeling about him and his communication skills and luckily canceled the order...
I still have the emails where we discussed the order. This one was
from the sixth of June 2018 and was my last one:

Hello Sir,

I am sorry but I ordered a knife elsewhere. I don't have much patients when somebody says he will email but does not. No offence but that's mostly an omen to more problems along the way.

Kind regards,

Micha

Yes, great idea. Contact his friend and ask him to sell out his buddy.

Give Rick a chance to recover and make things right. If he's gone dark and isn't responding there's got to be a good reason.

All of this is quite interesting, "but"...we have stretched far beyond the purpose of this "Randall Shop News" thread, especially seeing as how the conversation has been taken up by, yet another thread, in the general RMK section. I would submit that the balance of this be carried on there and, therefore, I am locking this thread.
The thread will remain posted as the information about Rick Ward is important. Don't get me wrong: I care not about the continuing of discussion of this...we just don't need it here!
Thanks for understanding, Capt. Chris
