I had 2 custom knives built by other makers and both had Osage Orange and both cracked at the thong hole 2 years after I received them. I love Osage Orange as it is a native species but think a stabbaling process would keep it from cracking.

That would be true. Stabilizing is an interesting process, I would have to read up a little on the heartwood extracts of Osage to determine how well it would saturate with resin.
