In an attempt to highlight the difference between a standard #5-6" blade and a "NST", I did some rootin' and came up with a couple, both made in my bone linen. Billy P. just received one quite similar to this example of the "NST"...but it ain't the same knife!
Hope this helps clear it all up.

1st "3" photos show a standard blade grind. 2nd "3" show the "NST"...CCS

I'm liking that NST grind.

Having some knives with the NST, I would consider just how I might use them before picking one up to take out.

The top grind is sharp enough to use for light chopping, but it is too sharp for me to use my hand to exert any downward pressure on it in order to cut through something with the main cutting edge.

Even though I might not "intend" to have my hand come in contact with the NST edge, if I were to "forget" and try to push on it, I think I would regret it.

Also, for folks who want to baton a blade, in my opinion the NST edge is the best configuration.
