Are you going to fatten them up first?

A man that works on a dairy down the road came and got both of them. I don't like to fool with 'em that big. The boar had tushes that were 3 inches long.

I'd love to get ahold of those tusks.

We once tried to fatten up a smaller (about 70-80 pound) boar hog that we had trapped. He would only eat enough to stay alive and never really gained any weight. I had named him Wilbur and my wife finally made me agree to turn him loose (we already had plenty of sausage in the freezer from Wilbur's brethren). My hog trapping partner suggested that we castrate him before we let him go so if we came across him later, he would taste better. So, I went to Wilbur and told him that I had some good news and some really bad news. :-0 After we cut him, that poor hog just hunkered down in a corner of the pen and we had to drag him out to set him free. Never did see him again as far as we could tell. Guess he decided he'd had all he wanted of my place.

Great story. Poor Wilbur, he will now only be a consultant.

My wife Lucille loved to play the horses when we were in cities that had tracks. She was all about handicapping and knew how read the racing form. I knew nothing and always went for the name of the horse that sounded interesting. When Bush 43 was in office, there was a horse named "Cheney's Got a Gun", and a few years later another one "Has No Balls" were 2 that I lost money on, but had fun thinking about the announcer calling both of those races.

Wayne:

We weighed one on cotton scales a few years back that weighed 330lbs.

This one ain’t that big. Just guessing, I’m thinking about 280 (give or take.)

Still, a pretty good sized wild hog!

Coach,
If the weight is about 280 lbs, about how much meat can you harvest?

With white tail deer,we basically guess about 70% would be meat.
