Here's an Argentine Police version made under contract from Colt. All numbers matching, except the magazine. The gun is tight, solid and a darn good shooter. It came with black grips which have a bit of wear on them, but I have them. The cross hatch "serrations" on all the parts match. has a date of 1927 on it, but I'm not sure that is the date of manufacture.

Thanks
Warren
It was a custom done by a gun club member shot Bulseye in the 60s
and in 2008 Ithaca came back out with them and called them BM 1911
Bomar Sight they weren't cheap but not as much as an all original Ithac today

Sharpi, I had an all original Ithica that I traded away at a gun show for something that I "just had to have". Don't even recall what it was now. Dang!!

Well,
CMP just announced new rules when and if the legislation passes to sell surplus 1911s.
Whole new category, CMP 1911, and all new procedures, applications, 2 Background Checks, Transfers to brick and mortar (storefront) FFL locations and no C&R Licenses.

Yeah, no such thing as "old customer" with "CMP 1911", all fresh paperwork required.

I'll make an attempt if it ever comes to be, but will be as successful as buying a lottery ticket.

Oh, and another restriction.
One 1911 per year and re-enter a lottery for the next year.
It looks like the politico's made it as onerous as they could to participate in a program with the original purpose of teaching youth to shoot.
Oops, I stumbled onto a soap box for a moment.

Chief...what is it that I am missing...CMP gets 50% more for their guns, than the market....resale....I don't see it...
M-1's for $1,500 when I can buy them in the market, here in Atlanta for less than $1,000...those "sniper" scopes for 2k....don't even start on the Garands....maybe I'm missing something...somebody help me on this...if they start offering .45's...they'll be $2,500+++ I just do not see the value in that.....HELP ME...
