I do like .45's, 1911's & others and the first handguns I ever shot was the two that my grandpa brought home from WWI-France and the one my dad brought home when WWII ended. I have frequently carried & shot this P-12 since 1995. No problems, an excellent shooter and I always feel safe/in control with it somewhere close. My newest semiauto is the Glock 10mm and I hope to hunt whitetails with it next week. My eyes aren't what they were and I feel absolutely confident with it to 100 yds.

I would say that back in the 50s,the Gold Cup was pretty much the first "accurized" 1911. Pretty much set the standard for all the others to follow.

Anyway you look at it,still is pretty much the standard by which others are judged.

I have a dear friend, Sharpi knows him too. His parents asked him what he wanted for his 16th birthday... he said a Colt Gold Cup... this was in the late 50's. He got it new and STILL has it. It's in it's original condition and completely flawless.

I shot it a few years back, the blueing on it is incredible, as is the fit and over all finish. Tightest most accurate 1911 I have ever handled.

Duke,
Maybe a set of XS sights for your 10 mm Glock would be of some help???
Also limiting your shot(s) to 50 yards or less may be of some help.

What sort of area will you be hunting in? Heavy forest or open fields??
