Not sure if this helps you and its by no means scientific but I did my best at some quick snapshots.
Pic1: N/S double hilt & collar, stag, N/S butt plate.
Pic2: Brass FCH, brass collar, paper ivorite handle, brass flanged cap
Pic3: Brass FCH,brass collar, musk ox handle, brass coolie cap
Pic4:N/S FCH, N/S collar, musk ox handle, N/S cap

I have other examples that are so handle heavy the cg is wayyyy back.

Not sure, Mike Webb will know. Could be Billy Bates.

Thanks Warren, I checked out his website and it does indeed look like his work. Conveniently enough it looks like I go right past him when I do work down in Birmingham so now my gears are turning. Appreciate the lead.

Here is a #12-13 Thorp Bowie with old yellow micarta and it's a brass back. Just received this one yesterday. It came out of an auction in Nevada. I don't think the seller realized the significance of the brass back. Unfortunately, it came without a sheath, but I think I can live with that for a while.
