Can anybody tell me how in the hell to delete my Facebook accounts? It is "FAR MORE" trouble and time-consuming than could ever benefit me...NO DOUBT! Thanks for your help.

Hopefully, by the grace of God, I have succeeded.
Thanks anyway, Capt. Chris

Cap, good for you. I deleted mine years ago. I sleep better at night and don't have heartburn really as much as I did before.

If I mention I might want to get back in at FB just shove a sharp stick in my eye.

I'll do the "stick-shoving"..."but"...Ya' gotta' take those "goggles" off first.
Best, Capt. Chris

I've had it twice...the worst thing ever!!! I simply do not need to know that much information about everybody, and why everybody thinks that anyone cares to know that much about them is amazing.
I can't remember how I got off the first time, but I did....then, I had a niece that was going through some medical issues, and they way they kept people up to date was with Facebook....so, I re joined(with my go to nowhere email address) the texts on my phone nearly drove me nuts....the second time was easy....I just deleted the app off my phone, and that's that!!
they can send anything they want to that dummy email...I never look at it.

I had it for a short time; wasn't for me. I echo Rocky's thoughts exactly. LinkedIn is another one I couldn't get away from fast enough. I was bombarded with requests from people who never intended to contact me. It was a request from a cousin that tipped me off. GONE!

Facebook has it's issues, no doubt. However, the issues you guys describe are easily remedied by going to your settings and managing your profile.

Mine is locked down tight, but I still get pictures of the grandkids which is my primary desire.

I also use it to participate in three different Randall knife groups on FB. They are closed groups, so no spamming. They are pretty active groups and are easy to use.

If you adjust your privacy settings, you can block alerts and notifications and limit who you choose to see your activity.

It's an easy fix..... 5 minutes.

All true Tune but I don't need people that I know getting mad at me because I won't friend them on Facebook. Too much drama.

Well, if they get mad, that's on them. I have done it hundreds of times, to both friends and strangers. I have never had anyone mention it.

I was not trying to convince anyone to use Facebook, simply sharing some intel that may help others.

last time I had it all cut off...verified by several of the younger generation....I know, they know...you could not find, or friend me...I was a Facebook ghost!!!I just wanted it to keep up on my niece...BUT there was no way to keep Facebook from asking, at least once a day and probably many times a day..."DO YOU KNOW THIS PERSON...WOULD YOU BE INTEREST IN THIS PERSON" OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER....nobody could shut that off...it's like having your finger nails ripped off.....JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
