Tom, couldn't agree more, something about old hardware stores yell out "USA". Glad you guys enjoyed it.
Duke, I'll see if I can dig up the street address - take the Jefferson St exit and go north about a mile and you're within a block of it.

Thanks Boomer. Highland is a big street in Memphis and I thought perhaps it was located there. If so I live just south of Memphis and would have enjoyed checking the store out.

As a kid I used to like the Western Auto stores as well and as I recall, they had a decent selection of knives as well as well as BB & Pellet guns and some ammo. That's where I got BB's for my BB gun. Can't remember when they closed up but was a long, long time ago.

Any additional directions would be appreciated Dwight, although my lovely wife will consider it a challenge to drive me right to it in Cookville., sweet, southern, Tennessee girl that she is.
Me too, Tom, with the long ago, foggy but wonderful memories in the Western Autos (2) with my dad.....looking at the bb's, knives, bb guns, various cap busting 6-shooters, etc. My memory is foggy but I still have a well worn Old Timer and a similarly worn Case pocket knife and still remember my dad buying me each. Talk about treasures.

Thanks Mitchell.
Duke, if you go you may want to go a couple blocks over to 6 South Washington St and check out The Bunker. Upstairs is an antique store with mostly man cave type stuff but downstairs is where they have a good selection of WW1-WW2 militaria to include period firearms. They have a FB page also.
